MetaMask has a Tron integration across mobile and browser wallets, extending direct access to Tron.
MetaMask is adding Tron (the Tron blockchain) to its mobile and browser wallets, allowing users to directly interact with the blockchain. This means MetaMask now allows users to send TRX, USDT on Tron, perform swaps, and stake TRX all within a single, familiar interface. The new wallet experience also provides a way for users to easily transfer USDT on Tron, all while maintaining control over their private keys. This experience will be part of the company’s multi-chain wallet strategy, which currently includes the Tron, EVM, Solana, and Bitcoin blockchains under a single product.
The company’s partnership with the Tron DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) guided this development effort, ensuring that the company was building toward specific network priorities and adoption goals. Rizvi Haider explained that MetaMask’s multi-chain efforts aim to move the company past being an Ethereum-focused wallet and into a general-purpose wallet.
Multi-chain wallet, no need to install extensions
MetaMask users who currently use multiple wallets to manage multiple different assets will clearly see the benefits of having all those wallets in one place. Within the wallet, users will be able to natively stake their TRX, with the staking process prompted in a way that is easy to follow and understand. As the largest decentralized stablecoin in circulation, USDT on Tron is used by individuals to create stable value for transfers, payroll, and merchant settlement around the world. According to reports, the volume of stablecoin transfers on the Tron blockchain is approximately $21 billion per day.
Sam Elfarra noted that this access to the Tron blockchain would provide a significant advantage for payment and DeFi users who enter the space through a wallet they trust. In my opinion, this release strengthens user choice when it comes to which blockchains to choose to interact with, and does so without increasing any additional friction for the user.

Native TRX Staking and USDT on Tron inside MetaMask
The addition of the Tron blockchain to MetaMask will reduce the number of steps required for new users who are interested in exploring Tron-based dApps for the first time. After selecting the Tron blockchain for the transaction, users will be able to switch between other supported chains via the wallet’s built-in swaps feature. Once the user selects the destination blockchain, they will be asked to confirm the transaction details via the standard confirmation prompts found within the wallet. The overall goal of this approach is to minimize the number of context switches that users will have to go through compared to utilizing separate extensions or mobile applications for each blockchain individually.
Developers will also benefit from this integration, as a wider variety of users will be able to reach and utilize Tron-based dApps through the same workflows and interfaces found across various platforms today. Overall, MetaMask’s focus on providing a multi-chain wallet experience positions the wallet as a gateway to many of the most prominent blockchains in the industry today. The company is continuously releasing updates and adding new blockchains based on user demand and the level of activity and growth within each blockchain’s ecosystem.
Native Tron Integration Provides Immediate Utility
Tron’s role in facilitating international payments continues to grow due to the widespread acceptance of stablecoins such as USDT. Merchants generally seek low fees, fast confirmation times, and high levels of liquidity that allow them to rapidly exchange funds at exchanges and off-ramps. For users who are already transferring USDT on the Tron blockchain, the integration with MetaMask will create an easier path to discover and engage with staking opportunities and applications. The wallet unifies the user’s view of their assets, networks, and dApps, making it simpler to identify the state of their account balances and pending actions.
The reported volumes of stablecoin transfers on the Tron blockchain reinforce the company’s investment in supporting and developing tools and wallets for the Tron blockchain. The partnership between MetaMask and the Tron DAO indicates that the companies are committed to continuing to work together to develop educational content, developer resources, and community-driven initiatives.

Improving Security, Privacy, and Onboarding
User security and privacy remain paramount in the wallet experience, as users maintain control over their private keys throughout all operations. The wallet guides users through the confirmation process with easy-to-understand messages regarding addresses, fees, and amounts before requesting approval. Swaps will be available across all supported blockchains, enabling users to adjust their portfolios within the wallet environment. USDT on Tron is commonly used for cross-border transactions, payroll cycles, and marketplace transactions that occur during periods of peak usage. The TRX staking experience will provide users with entry points to staking, along with real-time status information, reward information, and timing information. Overall, this release further develops a practical multi-chain wallet experience for users looking to explore blockchains outside of EVM-based stacks.
